May 28 – 31 The Bowery Theatre - Tickets on sale soon.

The Yellow Line represents an entirely homegrown and original project, inspired by the experiences of Wyndham Local - Tyson Tuala, as a young correctional officer at Port Phillip Prison and centred on the themes of Māori, Pasifika and Prison cultures.  Thanks to Malcolm Robertson Foundation has funded the research, writing and development of this story to become a full length script.  Two writers – Alaine Beek (Essence Theatre Productions) and Berne-lee Edwards (Ngã Mãtai Purua) collaboratively worked on the script.

The play is scheduled for May 28 – 31 The Bowery Theatre - Tickets on sale soon.
Following the script's completion, funds have been granted by the Wyndham City Council which will be allocated towards various production needs, such as compensating local talent including actors and directors, as well as costs related to rehearsals, performances, set and lighting creation, and videography services. The script will be brought to life through the talents of Wyndham's own residents, with the premiere of this production to be at the Wyndham Cultural Centre.  This marks the most ambitious and exhilarating endeavour Essence Theatre Productions has embarked upon to date, and we are delighted to collaborate with Ngā Mātai Pūrua Inc. in sharing this story that delves into the Victorian justice system through a Māori & Pasifika Lens.
